Broadband Internet Access

Obviously, you can't be online without one. You can improve your computer's performance and your efficiency depending on which one you choose or are able to choose.

Which one do you choose, though? What are the real differences? I've used all the top performers in broadband internet access, a.k.a. cable internet access, DSL internet access and dialup internet access.

Let's start with my personal favorite: broadband or cable internet access.

It's not available everywhere, but if it is available, it's really more than worth the cost. Being truly serious about my home business (the money making part, anyway), cable has served me best.

It's always on, so there's no dialing up required - none of

that lovely screeching sound! I've had very, very little downtime. It usually takes a major storm to knock out cable lines, and most other occasional occurences I've encountered have been quickly and easily fixed.

Whenever you hear "high speed internet access" , they're talking about cable internet access. It leaves DSL (seven times faster) and dialup in the dust when it comes to processing speed. Back in my dialup days, I'd have a cup of coffee waiting for an image to download - sometimes two cups! I didn't get a heck of a lot done back then, obviously.

I use Comcast because it's available and it's growing by

leaps and bounds, covering more areas all the time. It was easy to install and set up, and you can even do it all yourself without a service call (and charge!). Because I hate to wait, I use a real high speed internet access provider. Because I want to make the most of my time online, I use Comcast. I would never use another internet access provider again ...period!
